Email : mallen@arphysmed.com Education After graduation from high school, Melissa continued her education with a 600 – hour intensive training course at Allied Health Association in Denver, Colorado. The course included extensive study in histology, endocrinology, dermatology, neurology, physics, and much more. Melissa received her license for Electrology and acquired her first national certification with honors before returning to Arkansas. Melissa then passed the Arkansas State Boards and began her career as a Certified Professional Electrologist in 1995. Throughout her career, she has continued educational advancement and received many national certifications. Her first national certification was the C.P.E. (Certified Professional Electrologist). The C.P.E. was obtained at Allied Health Association and required many hours of theory and hands-on practice, followed by a national certification test. Her next certification was the C.C.E. (Certified Clinical Electrologist). Melissa attended continuing education courses in Nashville, Tennessee in order to obtain this specialty certification in 1998. Her most recent national certification is the C.M.E. (Certified Medical Electrologist) awarded in 2000. This is the highest certification available for the application of cosmetic laser. To date, Melissa has had extensive continuing education in the field of electrolysis and cosmetic laser. Every year, she continues to take continuing education courses in order to stay up to date on advancing technology, and provide comprehensive treatment and expertise to her patients.
Melissa has also completed training and apprenticeship as a Permanent Cosmetic Specialist in 2002. As a Permanent cosmetic Specialist, she is licensed and experienced in the application of permanent makeup procedures.
Background
Melissa has been practicing since 1995. Since returning to Arkansas, she has been affiliated with Arkansas Electrolysis and Laser Clinic until joining Arkansas Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in June of 2005. Melissa has been licensed by the Arkansas State Health Department since 1995. She has been a permanent cosmetic specialist since 2002.

Melissa is married to her husband, Rodney. They have two children, Bailey and Brody. She enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
