Education

                       

                        After graduation from high school in 1971, Susan continued her education at Arkansas Business College and became an Executive Secretary. In 1982, she completed a 600-hour course, which included extensive study in histology, endocrinology, dermatology, neurology, physics, and much more in order to receive a license in electrology. Following completion of her studies, Susan took the Arkansas State Boards and received her license in Electrology. Her first national certification was the C.P.E. (Certified Professional Electologist) in 1986. Susan’s next national certification was the C.C.E. (Certified Clinical Electologist) in 1988. Her most recent national certification is the C.M.E. (Certified Medical Electrologist) awarded in 1990. This is the highest national certification available for the application of cosmetic laser. 

In 1988, Susan received continuing education and training and license by the state of Arkansas as a Permanent Cosmetic Specialist. As a Permanent Cosmetic Specialist, she is licensed and experienced in the application of permanent makeup procedures. To date, Susan has had extensive continuing education in the field of electrolysis, cosmetic laser, and permanent makeup. Every ear, she continues to take continuing education courses in order to stay up to date on advancing technology in order to provide comprehensive expertise to her patients.

 

                        Background

 

                        Susan has been an Electrologist for 22 years and a Permanent Cosmetic Specialist for 17 years. She owned Arkansas Electrolysis Clinic prior to joining Arkansas Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in June, 2005.

                        The S.C.M.E. and S.C.M.H.R. are national organizations that offer comprehensive continuing educational programs, testing, and national certification.

Susan is married to, Art Perkins, her husband of 18 years. The have two children, Melissa and Tod. Susan is the proud grandmother of two delightful children, Bailey and Brody. She enjoys family time and being outdoors. She especially enjoys working in her garden and with her horses.
