GENTLE CARE FROM PROFESSIONALS

What to expect on your first visit . . .

When it comes to your care, we do everything possible to increase your comfort and reduce your pain. We use state of the art diagnostic equipment and techniques to quickly evaluate your condition, and get you back on the road to recovery. We will take the time to answer all your questions and explain our findings.

CONSULTATION: The first step for a new patient. Here, a health history is recorded and evaluated. The consultation indicates for both the doctor and the patient what options can be or should be explored. A mutual decision is now made to commence with examination.

EXAMINATION: Your examination will be as thorough as your problem warrants. Tests may include neurological and orthopedic testing, laboratory, muscle strength evaluation, range of motion measurements and spinal analysis. In fact anything that will help us get you on the road to recovery as soon as possible, will be considered.

X-RAY: An x-ray is like a life-size blue print and takes on a new meaning at our clinic. We look at more than just disease (pathology) or fracture, and after the possibility of these are eliminated, the structure and alignment (subluxations) are assessed closely to facilitate repairs. At Arkansas Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation we use Digital Motion X-ray. Click here to read more information about the revolutionary service.

DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

Computerized Muscle Testing: To determine exactly where your strengths and weakness lie, so we can develop a personalized rehabilitation program for you.

Computerized Range of Motion (ROM) Testing: For assessment of the mobility of each spinal area.

Surface Electromyography (SEMG): Used to determine abnormal muscle function that may occur after an accident or injury.

NUTRITION AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

It is now well recognized that there is significant and serious nutritional deficiency’s in our Country. Most people have an adequate intake of calories, we get plenty of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, and we do not get enough of the micro nutrients, such as the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients from vegetables and fruits. Nutrition can no longer be ignored as not being important just because we have an adequate intake of calories. Our society is also significantly overweight and because of the sedentary lifestyle of our children they to are becoming overweight at a much earlier age. We can provide direction and guidance through nutritional analysis and weight management to help you achieve the health and lifestyle that you deserve.

WELLNESS MEDICINE: Is the art and science of healing that addresses the whole person. The practice of Wellness Medicine integrates conventional and alternative therapies to prevent and treat disease, and promote optimal health. Alternative therapies include nutritional and herbal medicine, which has become very well accepted in this country without many of the significant side effects of conventional medicine. Linda Bunch, M.D, heads the Wellness Medicine department.

WHIPLASH: Accidents, even minor ones can place damaging forces on your body structure. Whiplash is the most common injury and happens because quick opposite movements of your head and neck may damage muscles and ligaments that can change the natural alignment of your spine (subluxations). An early examination and care can prevent long term pain and suffering.
